Ranke Studios has released an updated version of the playable PC demo for Lost In Your Eyes on Steam, accompanied by a new gameplay trailer showcasing the improvements made to the experience. The studio has also confirmed that the full game will launch in the first quarter of 2027. The cooperative adventure for two players combines exploration and puzzle-solving across surreal environments, drawing literary inspiration from Dante Alighieri's The Divine Comedy and Goethe's Faust, alongside mystery elements influenced by Roman Polanski's film The Ninth Gate.
The experience takes two players on a journey through symbolic environments representing different stages of the afterlife. Progress requires constant communication, coordinated actions, and creative approaches to solving challenges. One of the game's defining features is the Camera Swap mechanic, which allows players to control their own characters while viewing the action exclusively through their partner's screen, creating a second-person perspective that demands attention to another person's point of view and can lead to unexpected situations.
The updated demo introduces a substantial overhaul of the opening sections, particularly the first chapter, set inside a monumental cathedral built around the Tree of Life. The environments feature visual improvements, more elaborate atmospheric lighting, and updated character animations, while the perspective-switching sequences have been refined to make transitions feel more natural.
Additional improvements include comfort and accessibility options, such as a dedicated setting to disable camera shake. The soundscape has also received adjustments to its audio mixing and dynamic transitions between musical tracks, with compositions by Turkish musician Aydın Sarman contributing to the atmosphere of the environments players explore.
"We started developing Lost In Your Eyes with just a few people and an ambitious idea inspired by classical literature and the question of what happens when you must completely rely on someone else's sight," said Hakan Atçeken, founder of Ranke Studios. "This updated demo is the result of months of learning, polish, and optimization. We are excited to put these refined puzzles in front of players today as we count down to our full launch early next year."
