Ligmanauts has been announced by Super Spin Digital, a studio based in the Australian state of Victoria, as its upcoming cooperative platformer for PC, scheduled for release via Steam. Designed for both online and local play, the project focuses on physics driven mechanics, constant player interaction, and unpredictable situations that make cooperation an essential part of the experience.

The game combines classic platforming elements with features tailored to the voice chat era, encouraging players to work together while tackling compact worlds filled with obstacles and challenges. Throughout each session, players can roll, bounce, grab, swing, jump, and boost their way through levels, all accompanied by an original Liquid DnB inspired soundtrack.

Set within the so called Ligma-verse, the adventure challenges groups of friends to explore a variety of locations in search of juicy fruits that will help them throw the greatest punch party in the universe. Along the way, teams will face challenges designed to test their ability to cooperate, including coordinating oversized tasks, balancing on top of one another, and making daring leaps that require complete trust in fellow players.

The origins of the project were explained by Stephen Last, Technical Director at Super Spin Digital, who revealed how a simple concept gradually evolved into the game's current form. "The game started as a simple co-op concept where players worked together to pilot a single vehicle. I wanted a novel, heavily physics-based character controller, so I started with the simplest thing possible: a sphere rolling around, bumping into things, and using joint constraints to grab objects. Before I knew it, the whole game became about balls and grabbing things—and the Ligmanauts were born!", he said.

Movement has been designed to feel fast, responsive, and playful, rewarding creativity and momentum rather than strict precision. Physics systems directly influence how characters interact with both the environment and each other, creating situations that can play out very differently from one session to the next.

Between challenges, players will have access to the Playground Hub, a shared social space that serves as a persistent gathering area. There, they can unlock toys, microgames, cosmetic items, and other rewards while spending time with friends before moving on to the next set of challenges.

The experience will also feature multiple themed worlds and replayable scenarios, increasing long term replayability. A drop in and drop out system allows sessions to adapt seamlessly to the number of players available at any given time, regardless of group size.

Multiplayer options include support for up to eight players online and local split screen co-op for up to four participants, available both online and offline. Combined with shared progression, emotes, and unlockable cosmetics, these features reinforce the game's focus on teamwork and social fun.

With an emphasis on physics driven challenges, humor, and player interaction, Super Spin Digital's latest project aims to turn every obstacle into an opportunity for memorable and chaotic moments, encouraging friends to work together as they explore a universe filled with unexpected situations.
