The Belgian Game Awards, organized by games.brussels and BelgianGames with the support of various partners from the Belgian video game ecosystem, celebrated on December 10 the talent and creativity that drive the local industry. The event brought together professionals, studios, and enthusiasts to recognize the year's highlights across fourteen categories, reinforcing the ongoing commitment to strengthening Belgium's gaming sector.

The ceremony not only acknowledged the work of the studios but also highlighted the growth and diversity of productions that have gained visibility on the international stage. Until December 12, the Steam platform will also dedicate a special showcase to Belgian games, featuring selected titles in a limited-time promotion.

Among the highlights of the ceremony, Koira, developed by Studio Tolima, earned the title of Belgian Game of the Year. The game is a charming story of friendship in which you and your new puppy journey through a musical forest, solve ancient puzzles, befriend woodland creatures, and try to find your way home.

The jury's choice reflected unanimity in praising the artistic and emotional depth of the project. In their words: "Koira is a beautiful and heartfelt adventure with enchanting musical design and a story that made you feel for its characters, without using a single spoken word. It very nearly took home best visuals as well, so it's only fitting that a title which manages to accrue two wins and a narrow second place in another category gets to be crowned Belgian Game Of the Year."

Beyond the recognition itself, the awards highlighted Belgium's creative strength and the impact of its studios on the global market. The results reinforced the importance of initiatives that promote visibility and growth for independent productions.
