HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate was one of the highlights showcased during BitSummit in Kyoto, Japan, where Acclaim, Inc. unveiled a brand new gameplay trailer for the upcoming arcade snowboarding title. The game is currently in development for PC and major consoles, delivering a fast paced experience inspired by some of the genre's most beloved classics.

Developed by Mexican indie studio Wabisabi Games, known for projects such as RKGK / Rakugaki, the title aims to capture the energy and freedom of franchises like SSX and Jet Grind Radio. Its design combines high speed action, gravity defying tricks, and a strong influence from Japanese pop culture, an element that has also shaped the creators' own backgrounds.

Presenting the game at the Japanese event carried special significance for the development team. "As Mexican 90s kids, we grew up watching anime on national TV and playing Japanese games nonstop," said Anward Noriega, CEO and co founder of Wabisabi Games. "We've always been deeply in love with Japanese pop culture, so having the chance to showcase HYPERyuki to a Japanese audience at BitSummit truly feels like a full-circle moment."

The newly released footage highlights a diverse cast of snowboarders, a variety of snow covered locations, and an extensive selection of gravity defying tricks. The trailer also emphasizes the game's focus on style and fluid movement, qualities that aim to help it stand out within the modern arcade sports landscape.

Among the available modes is Challenge, where players must complete specific objectives to achieve the highest scores possible. The mode encourages trick execution, collectible hunting, and creative use of the environment to climb the leaderboards.

Race mode focuses on direct competition, pitting players against AI opponents or other competitors. Performing tricks during runs fills a boost meter, creating a constant balance between speed and style throughout each descent.

Players looking for a more relaxed experience can explore Chill mode, which offers endless runs across the mountains while encouraging exploration and the discovery of hidden secrets. The package also includes online multiplayer for up to eight participants and local split screen matches.

The game's playful personality is further reflected in its unusual roster of riders, including the option to shred down the slopes as a sentient snowboarding taco. With a distinctive visual style and strong inspiration from 1990s pop culture, the title aims to blend nostalgia with its own unique identity when it launches.
