A boat repair shop serves as the setting for a cooperative experience marked by frantic action, improvisation, and sabotage in Holey Ship, which is confirmed to launch on Steam on August 25, 2026. Developed by Essencia Sentinam and published by Judatone Studios, the title puts up to four players in charge of a team responsible for restoring vessels that arrive at the dock with dirty hulls, broken planks, and low fuel, while impatient customers wait for their service.
Boat maintenance is handled through minigames that must be completed quickly to restore the vessels and secure good reviews for the workshop. The team's performance depends on its ability to divide tasks and work under pressure, as delays can cause customers to leave and give the shop negative reviews.
Matches also allow players to turn cooperation into an additional source of chaos, with the option to deliberately interfere with their own teammates during repairs. Pushing someone near the edge of the dock or leading them toward exposed electrical cables can disrupt the team's work, creating a constant conflict between helping coworkers and taking opportunities to sabotage them.
The cooperative system supports online matches for one to four players, maintaining a focus on fast paced action and unpredictable situations. Each vessel presents different problems that need to be solved, requiring the team to adapt its strategy according to the requested services while maintaining the level of service necessary to earn five star reviews.
Character customization further gives each member of the workshop their own identity, with options including characters such as a surfing dolphin and a mechanical penguin. The combination of repairs, time management, customer reviews, and sabotage creates a multiplayer experience designed around lighthearted matches in which cooperation can quickly descend into chaos.
