Guildrun has been officially announced by indie studio Leyline as a roguelike autobattler scheduled to launch on Steam in late 2026. Alongside the announcement, the studio released a free playable demo on the platform, giving players an early look at its blend of autobattler and roguelike mechanics designed to deliver highly replayable runs.

The project brings together lead designers whose previous work includes Hearthstone and The Bazaar, creating an experience centered on assembling teams of unique heroes. Throughout each run, players venture into dangerous rifts while strengthening their strategies through traits, items, and relics, building powerful combinations to overcome increasingly challenging waves of monsters.

Community involvement has been a key part of development since the earliest stages. Before the game even had a Steam page, Leyline opened a closed alpha that attracted more than 3,000 testers, who collectively logged hundreds of hours while helping shape the experience through feedback. The release of the demo marks the next phase of that process by inviting a broader audience to try the game and contribute to its continued evolution.

One of the game's main highlights is its progression system, which allows players to gradually build and strengthen their teams by combining heroes with a wide variety of items, relics, and abilities. Because the choices available change from one run to the next, every playthrough encourages new strategies and different combinations.

Each run is designed to last around 20 minutes and can be paused, saved, and resumed at any time, providing greater flexibility for different play styles. The progression system features eight difficulty levels that unlock after successful runs, culminating in an Endless mode where players can compete for positions on the global leaderboards.

Since the alpha began in January this year, the development team has maintained a schedule of weekly updates, continuously refining the experience and introducing improvements based on community feedback. This ongoing development approach aims to further polish the game ahead of its full Steam release in late 2026.
