Assemble Entertainment and Half Soup Labs have released a new Glintseeker Island demo on Steam, giving players the chance to unearth treasures and uncover the secrets of the upcoming single player mining and exploration adventure. Scheduled to launch in 2027, the game takes players into mysterious caverns filled with ancient artifacts, featuring excavation mechanics inspired by classic treasure hunting games.

In the new demo, players can explore two procedurally generated underground biomes spread across 15 floors, packed with fossils, gemstones, rare artifacts, and other valuable discoveries. The resources collected can be sold to fund tool upgrades and unlock new abilities, allowing access to previously unreachable areas while revealing even more hidden secrets beneath the surface.

The discoveries made underground also help restore a once forgotten village. After returning to the surface, players can complete eight village restoration projects and side quests, assist a cast of quirky residents, and watch the community gradually come back to life. Throughout the adventure, they are accompanied by Shadow, a loyal canine companion.

The demo also features an exclusive challenge for players willing to search every corner of the island. Among the optional objectives is finding the rare Soup Fossil, a collectible available only in the demo that, according to the developers, has just a 0.2% chance of being discovered, encouraging repeated playthroughs in pursuit of its rarest secret.

Presented as the first opportunity to experience the island ahead of its full release, the demo showcases the game's core mechanics by blending exploration, character progression through upgrades, village restoration, and treasure hunting into a relaxing mining adventure.
