The 2025 edition of gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show has unveiled the 13 finalists of its highly anticipated Pitch Competition, highlighting some of the most promising independent talents on the global stage. The event continues to establish itself as an essential showcase for new creators, attracting attention not only from the public but also from renowned investors and publishers.

Sponsored by BACKND and the Epic Games Store, the competition received over 100 submissions from developers across various countries. After a rigorous selection process, 13 finalists were chosen, representing studios from Spain, Sweden, Thailand, the United States, among others.

These finalists will have the chance to present their projects live on October 17, 2025, competing in three main categories: Best Visual, Best Game Design, and Most Anticipated Game. Each presentation will be closely followed by industry experts, marking a decisive moment for the creators.

The winners in each category will receive a cash prize of $1,500, along with valuable international exposure to potential partners such as investors and publishers. This recognition also opens doors to new opportunities for funding and publishing, consolidating the Pitch Competition as a launchpad for emerging talent.

Diversity is one of the key strengths of this edition, with projects ranging from lighthearted cooperative couch games and narrative-driven experiences to ambitious online RPGs and intense action titles. This variety reflects the vitality and creativity of today’s independent scene, which finds in the event a privileged space to thrive.

The jury evaluating the projects includes prominent figures from the industry, such as Kyle Billings (Epic Games), Patrick Johnson (Playstack), Hiro Ishige (Shochiku Co., Ltd.), Adam Snook (Kwalee), and Ariel Pai (PQube). With experience spanning from AAA publishing to supporting independent studios, the panel ensures a balanced assessment between creative vision and commercial viability.

In addition, the Most Anticipated Game category will feature a special public vote, counted live on the day of the competition. This interactive element reinforces the dynamic character of the Pitch Competition, which remains one of the most exciting highlights of the gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show program.
