GameJamPlus has officially opened applications for organizations interested in becoming local hosts, known as "Venues", for the 2026/27 edition of the competition, which reaches its 11th edition after celebrating a decade of activity. The initiative is seeking universities, game development studios, gaming communities, innovation hubs, coworking spaces, public institutions, non governmental organizations and other groups interested in strengthening local game development ecosystems.

Running for approximately eight months, the international competition offers an experience that goes beyond the creation of games during a traditional game jam. Participating teams progress through five stages involving development, mentorship, business validation, pitching, networking and opportunities to connect with professionals and companies from the international games industry.

Local organizers receive the title of Fellows and are responsible for leading the opening stage of the competition in their respective cities or regions. Their responsibilities include hosting the Game Jam and supporting participating teams during the beginning of their journey, while also connecting local communities to an international network focused on the growth of game development.

The previous edition marked a milestone for the initiative by celebrating ten years with in person continental semifinals held across different regions of the world. The cycle concluded with a Global Final in Brasília, bringing together developers, publishers, investors, educators and industry representatives from dozens of countries.

The launch of the 11th edition expands GameJamPlus' international ambitions by seeking new communities to join its ecosystem. The initiative aims to use its network of local organizations to connect developers with opportunities for education, business, collaboration and access to the global market.

Organizations interested in becoming Venues can now apply for the 2026/27 edition. Applications are open to institutions and communities willing to host the competition's opening stage and contribute directly to the development of the games industry in their regions.
