Moravian Games and publisher Indieformer have announced the release of Feed the Scorchpot, a board game inspired roguelike that is now available on pc via Steam. The adventure places players under a twenty year pact with a dragon that demands a meal every year in exchange for protection. The challenge lies in meeting the creature's increasingly demanding expectations, as an unsatisfactory meal can turn the chef into the main course.
The structure combines dice rolling, resource management, and combo building across an island organized on a hexagonal grid. Each round allows players to gather ingredients, discover recipes, and place buildings such as farms, shrines, and harbours, creating interactions capable of multiplying scores and gradually transforming the territory into a complex production engine.
More than fifty buildings are part of the system, each offering different functions and interactions that allow players to develop specific strategies during every run. The world also features a hand drawn visual identity, with illustrations applied to the buildings, ingredients, and meals that make up the experience.
The culinary system features more than eighty recipes and allows ingredients to be combined to increase Flavour, Essence, and Fodder values. These combinations can generate increasingly rewarding scoring chains, encouraging players to experiment with different ways of organizing their production while managing the dragon's demands.
More than twenty types of dice can be used to customize each run, offering new possibilities for modifying probabilities and adjusting strategies. The concept encourages players to deliberately break the game's balance in pursuit of high scores, while requiring adaptation when board conditions change and carefully constructed strategies inevitably begin to fall apart.
The twenty year contract also works as a risk and reward mechanic. Players can end the agreement early in pursuit of higher scores or remain for the full duration to face increasingly difficult demands. As the years progress, the dragon becomes hungrier and more demanding, increasing the pressure behind every decision.
The variety of buildings, recipes, and dice ensures that each contract offers different possibilities for development. Players must decide between securing a safer conclusion or extending the run in search of more ambitious results, balancing the island's growth against the increasing threat of losing all their progress.
The project marks the debut of Moravian Games, founded by husband and wife Jakub, responsible for programming, and Daniela, who handles design and art. The release also opens Indieformer's catalogue as its first published title, establishing the partnership between the independent developer and the new publisher.
