Good Mood Games, an indie developer, released a new free update in September called Civilization Ascension for its real-time strategy game Eyes of War. Currently available on Steam Early Access, the game blends real-time strategy with a third-person perspective set in the brutal medieval era. Offering both single-player and multiplayer modes, players can build castles, fortify defenses, and, during battles, control individual units in character mode, providing unique strategic advantages in epic combat scenarios.
Among the available civilizations, Silveria stands out with bonuses focused on cavalry and archers. In addition to starting with more wood and stone for construction, its mounted units have a wider line of sight, archers are trained faster, and the market commission is lower compared to other factions. Exclusive technologies include castle archers dealing more damage, and units temporarily gaining increased damage or movement speed after defeating enemies.
On the other hand, Solvong is geared toward economy and population. This civilization starts with more gold, cheaper archers, and a higher maximum population from the outset. Advancing to the next age is also more cost-efficient. Unique technologies include increased accuracy for ranged units, faster building completion, and a higher collection rate of taxes (gold) from buildings.
The update also brings changes to horse armor and dodge mechanics, along with other quality-of-life improvements within the game. Civilization Ascension introduces fixed bonuses that directly impact gameplay from the start of each match, applied permanently and unable to be changed or lost.
With the addition of new exclusive technologies for each of the four civilizations—Solvong, Silveria, Veridia, and Norvion—the free update expands the strategic options available, offering distinct advantages that complement the unique traits of each faction.
