Indie developer Pine Studio has released the Spy DLC for its award-winning puzzle series Escape Simulator, now available on Steam. This new expansion invites players to test their covert skills in four escape rooms filled with mysteries, gadgets, and daring challenges inspired by classic espionage thrillers.

The experience can be enjoyed solo or online with up to seven friends, allowing teams to solve intricate puzzles, outsmart villains, and foil sinister plots in cinematic fashion. Each room has been designed to recreate iconic secret mission scenarios, with immersive settings and plenty of secrets to uncover.

Among the highlights is Agency HQ, where players must prove their worth and earn their spy clearance. In Quartermaster's Workshop, the mission is to explore and master a variety of gadgets before putting them to use in the field. These initial stages serve as essential training for the challenges ahead.

The final rooms raise the stakes even higher. In The Villain's Yacht, the task is to infiltrate high society and uncover dangerous secrets, while Underwater Rocket Base challenges players to stop a submerged rocket launch and save the world from global disaster. Each environment demands attention to detail and teamwork to succeed.

To enhance immersion, the package includes spy-themed outfits, allowing players to fully assume the role of secret agents. In addition, new gadgets and props have been added to the Room Editor, enabling players to design their own escape rooms with a spy flair, available to everyone, even those without the DLC.

The suspenseful atmosphere is amplified by a cinematic soundtrack, carefully crafted to accompany every puzzle and challenge. The music sets the tone for covert adventures, capturing the essence of classic spy films and turning each moment into an engaging experience.

Meanwhile, Pine Studio is putting the finishing touches on Escape Simulator 2, scheduled for release on October 27, 2025. The sequel expands on the concept of the original game with new environments, more complex puzzles, and the upgraded Room Editor 2.0. Players will be able to explore themed packs such as Dracula's Castle, Starship EOS, and The Cursed Treasure, with support for up to eight participants and near-total interaction with objects in the environment, promising the most realistic experience in the franchise yet.
