Boasting a 94% Very Positive rating on Steam, Enter the Chronosphere has received The Fractured Worlds Update, a major free update for the turn-based combat roguelike developed by Effort Star in partnership with Joystick Ventures. The new content has been released and is now available during Steam Cyberpunk Fest, significantly expanding gameplay variety with new environments, enemies, weapons, and tactical challenges.

The game's core mechanic places players in battles where time only moves when they do. With bullets frozen in mid-air and enemies standing still, every action can be carefully planned, allowing players to line up shots, dodge attacks, reload, and navigate procedurally generated worlds at their own pace.

The update introduces four minor biomes that become available after players defeat enough minibosses. These fragments of other worlds can replace multiple floors in future runs, taking players through scorching deserts, volcanic landscapes, neon infused dimensions, and massive scrapyards overrun by machines.

Each environment features exclusive enemies, unique weapons, tactical encounters, and a brand new miniboss. Players who venture deep enough into a Chronosphere may also discover powerful weapon modifiers, creating opportunities to risk an already promising run in exchange for an even stronger build.

The new content adds the Dunes, Geometric, Scrapyard, and Volcanic biomes, alongside the Sandwraith, Geomaster, 54D-GEAR, and Obsidius minibosses. It also expands the arsenal with 20 new weapons, including the bouncing laser weapon Hepta, the flamethrowing Pyrocrystal Sword, and the Discarded Device, which calls down devastating orbital strikes.

The update further introduces nine new enemy types, including long range snipers, fast hit-and-run fighters, heavily armed robots, and creatures adapted to volcanic environments. Five new missions have also been added across the fractured Chronospheres, providing additional objectives and increasing the variety of every new run.
