With more than 175,000 wishlists, Echoes of Mystralia, the spell crafting roguelite developed by Borealys Games that features Hades style combat and millions of possible spell combinations, has officially announced its Steam Early Access release for August 11, 2026. Set in the same universe as Mages of Mystralia, released in 2017, the game puts players in the role of a Watcher tasked with protecting the Cycle of Memories and the realm of Mystralia from a rift that threatens to consume everything.

The game's standout feature is its spell crafting system, designed to provide a high degree of freedom throughout each run. As players progress, they will collect Memories that can be combined with elements such as fire, ice, and lightning to create customized spells. The placement of each component directly affects the spell's outcome, enabling millions of possible combinations and encouraging experimentation against the many dangers ahead.

Progression revolves around the Azimuth Temple, which serves as a central hub between expeditions. There, players can unlock new abilities, refine their combat strategies, and seek guidance from an ancient goddess. Beyond the temple's safety, the adventure features formidable primordial Guardians, new Memories to experiment with, and characters shaped by the hardships that have transformed Mystralia.

The experience combines fast paced, tactical combat that rewards quick reflexes, precise movement, and split second decision making. The extensive spell customization system ensures that each run offers distinct approaches, reinforcing the replayability that defines the roguelite genre.

The Early Access version will launch with 110 Memories for spell creation, 12 starting spell forms, three regions to explore, and three Guardians to defeat. This initial content establishes a solid foundation for the game's continued development while allowing the community to experience its core mechanics and follow its evolution throughout the Early Access period.
