BornMonkie has announced that Dodo Duckie, its new perspective shifting adventure and puzzle game, will launch on Steam on July 23, 2026. The announcement was accompanied by a special trailer showcased during the Indie Live Expo April Showcase, featuring exclusive new footage that highlights its cozy exploration and creative challenges.

In the game, players embark on a journey through a charming world with the mission of rescuing friends captured by aliens. The experience blends classic 2D platforming mechanics, such as exploring environments, collecting coins, and overcoming obstacles, with abilities that allow players to shift the perspective of levels and reveal new ways to interact, creating solutions that move between 2D and 3D.

Throughout the adventure, the title introduces a diverse cast of characters and encourages the discovery of alternative paths, hidden treasures, and puzzles that challenge spatial perception. The journey spans three distinct worlds, ranging from mountain farms to frozen lakes and even outer space environments, each introducing unique mechanics such as freezing, shooting, and gravity manipulation.

The project marks BornMonkie’s second title and its debut release on PC. Inspired by genre classics, the game has already been gaining attention on social media and building a dedicated community. In addition to the PC version, an Xbox release is currently in development and is expected to arrive by the end of 2026.

Speaking about the game approaching its launch window, Samveda, co founder of BornMonkie and the game’s producer, said: "On the surface Dodo Duckie is a puzzle adventure game. At its heart it's a story about finding yourself and learning to waddle your own way".

Among its highlights, the game emphasizes switching perspectives to solve puzzles, supported by level design that balances creativity with a relaxed pace. Tactile visuals and playful elements are paired with lighthearted interactions, including the ability to customize the protagonist with a variety of adorable hats, reinforcing the warm tone of the experience.
