Dash Dash Dead is the new project from indie developer Virtual Void Studio in partnership with publisher Drillhounds, delivering a fast-paced, turn-based roguelite dungeon crawler inspired by dystopian death-game fiction such as "The Running Man", with a release planned for this year on Steam. The concept blends tactical strategy with constant time pressure, creating an experience where every decision must be made quickly.

In the game, players take on the role of a death row inmate forced to participate in a violent, ratings-obsessed television show where killing is the only path to earning a chance at freedom. The structure combines turn-based combat with an intense pace, where hesitation is heavily punished and every move can determine success or failure.

Each run is built around improvisation and continuous progression, encouraging players to scavenge items from defeated enemies and combine them creatively. There are over one hundred unique items that enable chaotic builds, while procedurally generated arenas feature more than one hundred stages, along with over twenty enemy types with variations, ten mini-boss encounters, and six main bosses designed to prevent any escape.

Beyond combat, the game offers more than twenty side quests that expand the narrative behind the deadly show, while a relentless Warden narrates the action throughout. As players progress, they can also unlock eight different inmates, each bringing their own distinct approaches to survival and progression.

With its mix of unpredictable systems, fast-paced gameplay, and a wacky tone, Dash Dash Dead challenges players to observe carefully, adapt quickly, and perform under pressure, facing everything from security bots to hostile mushrooms while striving to survive long enough to earn their freedom.
