Grove Street Games has announced BeastLink, its first original intellectual property in more than a decade. Known for its technical work on titles such as ARK: Survival Ascended and Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, the studio is now investing in a multiplayer experience focused on large scale destruction, vehicular combat, and battles between gigantic creatures. The game is set to launch in early access this summer for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
Built with Unreal Engine 5, the project uses the studio’s proprietary SuperDestruction system to elevate environmental destruction to a new level. The physics based technology allows every player to reshape the map in real time, whether controlling humans or Kaiju. According to the studio, the environments feature more than 250,000 destructible objects and tens of millions of individual fragments, turning entire cities into dynamic combat zones.
The gameplay combines tactical survival with chaotic action. Players are dropped into massive urban areas under siege, where they must navigate collapsing environments while fighting military forces and gigantic monsters. Resources gathered during matches fuel an experimental procedure capable of creating a direct link with dormant Kaiju. Once the BeastLink is established, the gameplay shifts dramatically toward large scale destruction and real time monster brawls.
Each playable creature offers a distinct combat style. The launch roster includes Horned Lizard, Bull Shark, Vampire Bat, and Mandrill, giving players different approaches ranging from brute force and aerial attacks to speed focused movement. The system also changes how players traverse the city and approach combat, encouraging new strategies in every match.
"Our team has a long history of making great games while tackling complex technical challenges, but at its core, BeastLink stems from one goal: to create the ultimate Kaiju experience," said Thomas Williamson, CEO of Grove Street Games. "Community is an integral part of building that, beta testing gives players the opportunity to jump in early and help us shape what a modern Kaiju game should be."
Founded in 2007, Grove Street Games has contributed to several well known franchises in the industry, including Bully: Anniversary Edition and Max Payne. Across dozens of releases on consoles, PC, and mobile devices, projects connected to the studio have reached more than 100 million players worldwide.
The first of several closed beta weekends began on May 8, giving players an early opportunity to experience the company’s new project. Sign ups for the playtest are already available through the game’s official Steam page.
