Australian studios Garnet and Tin Man Games used their appearance at the Frosty Games Showcase, held as part of Summer Games Fest, to reveal new details about Atlanta TD. The strategy title with roguelite elements will receive its first Steam demo in August 2026, while its Early Access launch is scheduled for December of the same year.
Set in the city of Atlanta, the adventure places the Gods of Olympus in the middle of an unprecedented threat. With Zeus defeated and the Four Spectacular Realms seemingly left defenseless, the remaining gods must organize a resistance against the armies of Ares as they advance across the world from multiple dimensions.
The upcoming demo will allow players to explore Aetherion, the first of the four biomes planned for the full experience. The content will feature 50 replayable waves of enemies, along with a miniboss and the game's first major boss encounter. Players will also be able to unlock the first four heroes available, Apollo, Zephyrus, Herc, and Demi.
The story revolves around a prophecy that threatens the future of every realm. In one of the excerpts shared by the developers, Apollo foreshadows the scale of the coming conflict by stating: "I saw what's coming," Apollo said, his voice steady now, his resolve solidifying. "If we fail, it will consume everything."
Progression combines classic tower defense mechanics with permanent systems commonly associated with the roguelite genre. With each completed run, the gods gain experience, strengthen their abilities, and return better prepared to face future assaults from the invading army.
Another key element of the experience is the Nexus Portal, a mysterious structure that connects multiple universes and serves as the origin point of Ares' invasion. While it enables hostile forces from different realities to enter the battlefield, it also allows players to recruit alternate versions of the gods, expanding the strategic possibilities available during combat.
Battles will take place across four distinct cosmic biomes, each featuring its own visual identity, enemy roster, and recruitable deities. This variety is designed to provide meaningful changes in scenery and gameplay challenges throughout the campaign.
Procedurally generated maps further reinforce the game's replayability by ensuring that every run unfolds differently. As a result, players will be encouraged to continuously experiment with new routes, unit placements, and strategies as they fight back against the forces of the Underworld.
