Independent developers KikiCan and Ronkad have officially announced that the full version of "Welcome, Dear Human" will soon arrive on Steam. The project features a monster dating sim visual novel with meta narrative elements, expanding on the concept originally introduced in the demo released on itch.io in February 2026, transforming the original experience into a more ambitious commercial release.

The demo quickly found an audience among players interested in unusual narrative experiences. Since its debut, the game has reached around 200,000 plays, while videos produced by content creators accumulated approximately 400,000 views on YouTube, in addition to another 300,000 views on YouTube Shorts.

One week after the demo launched, the duo released the official Steam page, which has already surpassed 6,000 wishlists. The full version announcement was accompanied by a new trailer showcasing part of the new content and the expansion of the game’s narrative universe.

In the original version, players could only pursue a relationship with a single monster represented by a sleep paralysis demon. Now, the experience will feature ten different creatures, each with their own personality, exclusive routes, and stories capable of changing events based on the choices made throughout the campaign.

The narrative structure focuses on branching paths and situations that constantly challenge player expectations. Within this strange and unsettling world, the monsters stop serving only as supernatural threats and instead become potential romantic partners, unexpected confidants, and increasingly disturbing figures.

“Seeing how strongly people connected with the demo made it clear to us that Welcome, Dear Human could become something much bigger”, said KikiCan and Ronkad, creators of the game. “What started as a smaller project about dating your sleep paralysis demon has grown into a full game with more monsters, more routes, and much more room for the weirdness, romance, and surprises we wanted to explore.”

In addition to the expanded content, the developers also confirmed plans to release a new Steam demo following the official announcement. The commercial version promises to deepen the relationship systems and further expand the narrative elements that helped the project gain visibility among fans of experimental visual novels.

KikiCan and Ronkad first met while participating in the Jamspeticeye game jam and later went on to win another competition together. The title marks the duo’s first commercial project, as they now aim to turn the demo’s early success into a larger scale release within the independent games scene.
